Energy and Materials Programs
Meeting society’s grand challenges to build a more sustainable future
Colorado School of Mines’ energy and materials programs are training the next generation of scientists and engineers who will generate and distribute our electricity, develop and manufacture cutting-edge materials, advance quantum computing, explore space, create virtual worlds and so much more.
From the Dean
Our energy and materials programs are among the finest in the world. Our alumni are in high demand, earning an excellent return on their investment immediately after graduation and decades into the future. The rigorous education students receive prepares them to make a difference in the workforce as soon as possible, and is one of the hallmarks of the Mines experience.
Mines faculty and students are also making a difference in another way—their research is paving the way for a better and more sustainable future, developing next-generation materials and manufacturing techniques, harnessing and distributing renewable energy, using big data to solve society’s most pressing challenges, and helping keep our increasingly connected world safe.
We hope you join us as we look to the horizon and beyond.
